As part of our Community Rehabilitation Service, we now offer intensive upper limb therapy using state-of-the-art robotics technology.
Our robotics centre is the only one of its kind in regional Victoria, making it easier for local people to receive interactive rehabilitation without the inconvenience, stress and costs of travelling to major centres such as Melbourne.
We offer a range of robotics and interactive video devices that allow clients to practice repetitive motor tasks while playing fun and engaging computer-based games.
The Upper Limb Robotics Therapy Group is a program developed using the robotics equipment to deliver consistent, high-intensity therapy over a period of six weeks and comprises of three, 90-minute sessions per week. So far, the response to the program and the robotics model of care is overwhelmingly positive.
For more information, watch this short video about our robotics therapy including feedback from our clients who are using the service in their recovery journey.
We received funding and support from the Better Care Victoria Innovation Fund to implement the rehabilitation service into our model of care and our local community for investing their funds to purchase the robotics equipment.
